This should not be possible because there was only 39GB of free space on the C drive, and all other drives are 100% full.

To my suprise, it started preparing a file of about 60GB and then sending it to the backup servers. Started by removing the temp drive and see what the uploader would do. All the files on the C drive could be backed up.ĭisclaimer: I work at Backblaze and improved the temp space handling recently. The files that it couldn't backup, were stored on multiple of the external drives connected to the VM. The temp drive is also one of these drives.

The VM has a couple of drives connected to it via a SAS HBA and SAS expander. It also has 5GB of ram and a 150GB Vdisk (with 39GB free space).
#B2 backblaze look at files windows 10
The computer that is backing up the files is a Windows 10 virtual machine with 1 core and 2 threads of a Ryzen 1600 CPU. Is there an uploadspeed cap? I hope to get fiber soon. To sneak in another question how fast can the backup go per thread? I thought that each thread could only do about 10mbit, but I have now seen single threads max out my upload and hit 50mbit. How does Backblaze make sure that the file they have on their servers is exactly the same as the one I have locally? Should I redo the whole backup? I am worried that multiple other files might not have been properly backed up. This worries me, because there were multiple files that the program could not backup because of issues with the temp drive (solved that by changing drive connection) and it started to backup a file that there was not enough space to deduplicate it. I have had that popup before, when I did not use a temp drive a long time ago, but did not see it now. I expected a popup that told me there was not enough free space. I didn't let it finish that file and stopped the backup. I then decided to test a few things and started by removing the temp drive and see what the uploader would do. I thought it was weird, since it could backup larger files with no problem, but it would always skip those few files. I got an error in the "Issues" tab, that told me there was not enough temp space. I am using Backup personal and recently noticed that a few files wouldn't upload.
